The calligraphy on this reads: “Gongfu Tea.” “Gongfu” means mastery through self-discipline. It is skill let free. It represents a trained body, heart and mind that as one, freely meets the moment. The tea table is stained with the sessions that made this training possible. And all that is needed is a pot, a boat and three cups… This was painted with stoneground ink, mixed with aged sheng puerh and painted on handmade rice paper. I then poured some aged sheng right from the pot onto the paper. It is mounted on black silk with wooden rolls.
