Old Friends
Two temples on separate peaks. The old masters from each meet in the middle to appreciate the full moon. No matter how different the spaces we come from, the world is always bridged and always ruled over by the same moon—the same truth. When the clouds of delusion part, that truth is revealed and we see our original nature, which is Nature itself. We are of the same tissue as the world. This painting reflects that opening. The calligraphy is an old Zen saying: “The clouds part revealing the full moon.” I mixed sheng puerh tea with the pigment and ink when painting.
The dimensions of this painting are 53 by 79 centimeters.
